Richard, just a thought, but Sue has let you have the 2 Lincolns maybe the shop will trade you straight across for your 72 Lincoln.
I sold the 73 Lincoln about a year ago to a man in Huston, Texas. The 72 is a part of our family's history so I could never sell it. It is one of a kind. How many people have a 72 Lincoln that can be traced from it very beginnings up to the present day. It was an Arnold Palmer loaner car for the 1972 Masters Tournament with a letter from the man himself proving he drove the car. It is a car I drove for several weeks before being transferred to another dealer in South Carolina. The car went to Illinois and worked its way back to Aiken, South Carolina through the same family who purchased new. My son Scott discovered the car sitting in a garage and was told the story of the car. When he found out it was also a part of our family history from days gone by when my family owned Daniels Lincoln Mercury in Augusta, Ga. he got together with Sue and they bought the car for me as a Father's day gift. So you see the car has to stay with the family and will be passed on to my son Scott some day.
I would love to have the 64 Pontiac, but at this point it just can't happen without going into debt. We are debt free, don't owe money to anyone except the normal monthly bills such as utility bills, taxes, insurance and for our meds. Maybe when we sell the camper and truck there will be money for an old classic car. Meanwhile I can look and enjoy the what ifs in life.
