Good groomers are indeed hard to find. And impossible if you have a Scottish TErrier. NOBODY knows how to trim ours. I have even taken the book in and I don't think they even look at it. One groomer whacked off her eyebrows and told me, "I couldn't get them right, so I just shaved them off and we'll start over. GRRRRRRRRR. This time I said I wanted a shorter skirt off the ground. . . She is shaved completely. Grrrrrrr.
That said, I use the one here in Elkhart because they groom the dogs in the front room that is all windows. The gals really enjoy their job and take really good care of the dogs. When they get interrupted, they put the dog on the floor and tether them to the station. I have seen other groomers turn their back on the dog on the table and walk away. The dog could hang themselves. Since our Duchess is blind now and gets stressed easily, they have me bring her in right when they are ready for her so she doesn't have to sit in a cage for hours. Then they put her in a pen on the floor and call me. She has Scottie Cramp, but does not exhibit it when she is there, so I know she isn't getting too stressed. In Texas we use a mobile groomer and she is very good with Duchess as well.
