It frequently returns and even if you do those treatments, the dog normally doesn't live long.

Jax is 12 and has really bad hips requiring pain meds. They have decided not to do anything. Please keep son Brandon and his family, including 5 year old Brynlee and Jax in your prayers as they try to make Jax as comfortable and loved as possible in the weeks ahead. He was a rescue and is a very loving dog.


UPDATE:

Jax has started coughing more and today has been coughing up blood. Brandon called his vet and she said it could be related to the cancer. However, she did say they could treat the cough in the event it is an irritation or something else minor. So he got him some medicine. He said if this doesn't help he will probably make an appointment to end his misery. Jax has been with him for a long time. When he bought his first house, he wanted a dog. He got Jax from rescue. Then he found a gal, got married, had a child, moved to a bigger house, etc. Kept Jax through it all. They are best buddies. He is worried about his little girl's reaction. She is five and has never known life without Jax.
