Only slightly Burch. LOL
We are doing fine here in the RGV. Worst winter weather we have ever had down here in the 12 years we've been coming. We are so desperate for something to do, we even went to Mexico today. Haven't done that in 10 years. Got some souvenirs for the grandkids and a couple meds. Progreso, Mexico is the same as we remembered. Maybe dirtier. Hard to tell. And of course it was raining, but it was very light, like mist, so we decided to go. Took a cue from my parents and got there shortly after 8 a.m. Were back out by 10:15. No traffic either way. A short walk across the bridge. No line coming back.
Then we headed to Padre. Dense fog and mist all the way over. Once we got there, we couldn't see the water on the way across the bridge. Couldn't see the tops of the hotels, shrouded in fog and mist. We had wanted to go to Louie's Backyard for the seafood and prime rib buffet. Didn't start till 4 and it was 12! So we went to the convention center for market days. . . kind of like a big flea market, but new products. We've been before and it was a lot of fun. Didn't buy anything, but enjoyed our time there. Then we drove to the north end of the island and back to the other end. . . just killing time. Then we found a beach access and went out to see what the ocean looks like when it's dense fog and mist. Pretty gray. LOL
Finally got to Louie's and the buffet was wonderful. The crab legs were really good and so was the prime rib. We got back to our place in Mission at 7 p.m. It was a good day and something different for us. Still misting.
