Good morning everyone. Looking at Monty reminds me of our old home place in Waynesboro. There was a huge Pecan tree in the back yard that was home to a lot of squirrels. Suzie would lie in wait for one to come to the ground so she could chase it. Every morning when I would let her out she would run as fast as she could to the Pecan tree and run a circle around the base of the tree looking for the little rodents. Every once in a while she would catch one, but not that often, Mama our rescue from Mr. Cy would lay under the tree in the shade from the summer sun and keep guard for Suzie.
Well it looks like rain today. It's 41 degrees right now, a bit cool but not cold. Suzie is asleep on our bed while Dixie is lying under my feet while I sit at the computer. Suzie is slowing down. She sleeps a lot during the day with some spurts of energy when I ask if she wants to go outside for a walk. The leash always brings her to life. It's amazing how time has passed so quickly. It seems as if it were yesterday when Suzie was just a puppy playing with her sisters in the back yard in Waynesboro. Her biggest buddy was Anna. They would play for hours chasing each other around the back yard. Now twelve years later she is an old lady with a grey muzzle but still that look of curiosity when something unexpected happens. There are times she looks at me with a special look that only she has that tells me she is still in love with the man who saved her.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them. Please say a special prayer for Otis.
