I'm sorry about this development Richard. I think shortness of breath as we get older is always cause for concern but doesn't always mean something is wrong. I hope you will check with your doctor. A visit to a cardiologist may be appropriate.
A friend recently was going through this. She ended up with a heart cath and everything was normal. So she is looking at some lifestyle changes. . . more exercise, etc.
