Good morning everyone. It is 55 degrees here in the Deep South this morning, crazy weather. Sue is about to walk out the door with Dixie and Suzie for their morning walk. Lzzie is perched on the back of the couch so she can watch out the window.
When we moved here nine years ago our street was lined with some beautiful Cedar trees. They were especially pretty when it snowed. Yesterday the last one was cur down as new neighbors have seen fit to remove them. I haven't heard the Quail calling late in the evening in a long time now as all of their cover has been removed to build houses. The Coyotes have moved in as reports come from all over the area of their sightings and hearing their howls. We still have deer coming out at night grazing in our back yard and we see them in the large field up at the corner where East Sloan and Talley Scott intersect.
Things are changing sometimes not for the better. We have a neighborhood blog and every day there is posting of missing dogs and cats. It seems folks just can't keep their animals at home for one reason or another. The latest one is a small dog that escaped from a fenced in yard. It seems they were keeping the dog for friends while they were on vacation and it found a hole in the fence and got out. Our neighbor's dog Brady is still among the missing. I hope they find him as he is an older dog that needs care.
The count down is going on. We plan to leave for Michigan next month. I don't know how well the trip will go but I am hoping for the best. My sight is in question especially when it rains and at night.
The Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue is having a yard sale raising money for the cause. They are doing a great job and I appreciate all that they do.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day, Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
