We're in a similar pattern :( We moved a few years ago to a growing community that has been carved out of farm land. We have a field out our back door that has been planted with corn or soybeans every year we've been here. Right now it's only growing weeds. Most of the fields that are interspersed between subdivisions have not been planted. I assume when the farmers are able to plant, they will hit the huge fields that don't require the logistics of moving between subdivisions. I don't think they will get these smaller fields planted this year.
It is defiantly not a good year to be a Farmer. We will all be paying higher prices at the store and at the pump if the farmers can not get their crops in.
The news tonight said Lake Erie is 26 to 28 inches above normal right now.
