Mama reminds me so much of our Lab Hannah. She was 7 when she came to live with us. She was an Alpha. I never saw her growl or snap at Koko or BenBen, but they always gave way to her. We called her the Queen Mum. She would go to the car door and wait for us to help her into the car or the motorhome. She laid down where ever she wanted. I would be at the stove or refrigerator and turn around to almost trip over her. If I tried to walk down the hall and she was in front of me I just had to slow down and follow her at her pace.
She visited a geriatric psych unit at the local hospital with me. She was so calm and completely unruffled by anything. Now I am grooming her great granddaughter to go visiting.
