220 around Shreveport

Drove I-20 through Shreveport today and despite slowing I was afraid the poor road condition would rip the suspension right off the rv. Is the 220 loop around Shreveport any better?
  • Yes.....Like you, I drove I20 thru Shreveport about 3 months ago and made myself a promise not to do it again. So about 3 weeks ago, I was on I20 again and took the 220 loop around th north side of Shreveport. Much better. Will be headed back home on Wednesday and will take the loop again. Good luck.
  • Thank you. We did sustain some damage. A couple of the plastic sheets that cover the belly broke loose, and the rubber pads in the equalizers look smashed.

Yup. Lots better. From Monkhouse Drive airport exit of I-20 east to the Hwy 80 crossover, it's h#ll on the suspension. Always liked the name; Monkhouse Drive......are there Monks in a house there at that exit? Ha!
  • A re-striping project is going on right now on I-220. Good thing is it is being done mostly at night. Usually the crew is finished by 0630. The road is much better than I-20. Safe travels.
  • It took them a what seemed like a life time just to get I 10 in running order. Road building in La is and was one for the books...at least the cement has been topped with blacktop. It will take awhile. The one section that was originally done right was the bridge over the Atachfalaya...and only because the Feds had control of that one.
