- bgumExplorerFree/boondocking or paid?
- Texas_NomadExplorerPaid ..... I'm looking to pull off the interstate and never unhook from the TT. Free would be great if it was legal. I don't want to deal with any law enforcement. ;-)
- midnightsadieExplorer IIcracker barrel.
- bgumExplorerMost of the casinos in Shreveport have a dedicated lot for RVs but without hookups. Generator use is ok. Easy off on and free and safe patrols by security. In Baton Rouge I would go with KOA in Denham Springs.
I would suggest Margaritaville Resort and Casino. Big lot well lit Free. Shreveport
What is commonly called Shreveport is really Bossier City. - delwhjrExplorerShreveport KOA. Right off I-20 near TX/LA Border

Chiefneon - folivierExplorerLamar Dixon in Gonzales is off I-10 just east of Baton Rouge and has large gravel pull throughs with full hookups. When you drive in there is a campground to the right but go to the right behind the large buildings and you'll see the larger campground.
Also Cabela's also in Gonzales allows overnight RV parking to the right of the store. - Texas_NomadExplorerThanks for all the responses and good ideas. If I carried a generator, I would probably choose one of those casinos or Cabelas.
- prichardsonExplorerI believe I saw in another post that you were heading to Orange Beach Ms, thus you will be wanting to use I12 east at Baton Rouge. Near Hammond is Punkin RV Park just off I12.
- Texas_NomadExplorerI'm on the final leg of my return trip from Orange Beach, AL. Tomorrow, I head out on I-20 for DFW. I chose to stay at two KOA's, one in Denham Springs (Baton Rouge) and one here in Shreveport tonight. The biggest difference between the two is the quality of Wifi and electrical hookups. Denham Springs rates a 9/10. On the other hand, I would rate Shreveport a 4/10. The Wifi here was non-existent for most of the afternoon. Now, it's very weak and intermittent. The electrical has been bad all day and into the night. I have had to shut down my A/C three times because my volt meter shows 107V and glows a red warning. The average reading has been between 108V and 112V since I arrived about 1:30 PM today. I'm hoping to switch it back on in a few minutes.
