- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIITowed my 14K 5vr on all but the Dalton.
I'm more concerned driving Palmdale Road between Victorville and Palmdale than any of those listed.
People get paid for writing this nonsense :S - 4huskersExplorerHighway 2 in Montana goes nowhere near Butte or Three Forks. Since it's not far from the Canadian border it' s a real challenge in winter.
- Peg_LegExplorerI've got two of the five already checked off. Now Mom and Dad's driveway in KY was way worse than any on this list.
- GGeorgeExplorerI would like to add another, my local county road, it has a hill and is freshly blacktopped and you can get your speed up to 55 before the curve.
I think you can find fault with any road or area, so I take this with a grain of salt. I am looking forward to driving the Million Dollar Hyway, the Dalton, and Rt 2 in Montana. - K_CharlesExplorerI have been on 3 of them and thought none were dangerous, 17 would be on my list of most pleasant or relaxing.
- DrewEExplorer IIMaybe it would be better to have titled it "5 road trips to take in the US that can be dangerous if you are unprepared or drive stupidly."
On the million dollar highway, I was particularly amused by the statement that swerving off the highway was not a good idea (because of the lack of guard rails etc.)...as though it's generally a reasonable idea to randomly swerve off the roadway when they have guard rails or are on level ground?
They also missed Smuggler's Notch (VT 108) somehow. Maybe that's number 6. - romoreExplorer III had to laugh, I-10 dangerous:? The list was likely compiled by someone like my step son. We recently moved from the Vancouver area to the southern interior, they came to visit a few weeks ago. He is 41 and never driven outside the lower mainland.
He didn't like highway 5, the Coquihalla, to put it mildly. It is a 4 lane divided highway through a high mountain pass, speed limit 120 kmh (75mph)on certain sections but not overly dangerous in itself. The drivers who consider it a race course are. - dave54Nomad

This list made me LOL. It was obviously compiled by some city kid who's terrified of anywhere without street lights.
The most dangerous roads I've ever been on are in urban areas.
X3. Driving in any inner city at night. - 3oaksExplorer
