- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIGood 2 lane road with a major slide area recently repaired.
- boogie_4wheelExplorerGood 2-lane with a few passing lanes.
Watch your speed as you start the decent into Mt Carmel Junction (about 17mi north of Kanab).
With the exception of a couple large climbs/decents, the road is rolling hills and some curves that will make you drop the throttle but nothing major.
That will be the easiest route for you to take, and there is no reason to worry.CA Traveler wrote:

What slide area was there here? Are you thinking about the Big Cut south of Page? - TucsonJimExplorer III drive this route 2 to 3 times a year pulling my 13K FW. No problems at all.
Jim - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIYou can google hwy 89 slide to see what happened. Since repaired.
- obgrahamExplorerDrove it just last week. The road is in great shape. Moderate number of trucks and northbound snowbird RV'ers -- not having trouble.

Please help us out here. I can find nothing about a slide between Kanab and Bryce Canyon, only the one in AZ north of the north rim of the GC. - TucsonJimExplorer IIThe only slide was the one south of Page. No worries. The road is open and in great shape.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIISorry, it was south of Page.
- LaurenExplorerOK, did they get 89 repaired or are you still using the bypass?

Lauren, I think they completely reopened the road in late March. We're hoping to head to the North Rim this summer and I've been keeping an eye on that section.
