We went in 2005, 2009, and 2013. Drove each trip and stayed 3 months each time. Alaska is not the only reason to go to Alaska. Getting there is as much of an adventure as touring the State. We take a month to six weeks going and returning for a total of 4 to 4 1/2 months.
So why do we keep going back? Don't know that I can answer that except to ask, "can you just eat one potato chip"?
As you can see we don't go every year but are currently planning a return in 2017. Doing Newfoundland via the Labrador Hwy in 2015.
