Been 3 times. 2008, 2011 & 2014. It is a long way from MD but we will probably do it again. It is not just Alaska. This year we were almost a month from MT to Alaska. There is an awful lot of Canada in between & plenty to see. All trips have been arriving AK mid to late May. Snow is still on the mountains & the mosquitos are not out in full force yet. It is still a little cool.
Thinking of doing it late summer next time & get out before first snow.
