I remember sitting at the Alaska/Canada border on our way to Tok. Stopped by the flag guy due to construction. Talked to him quite a while. He was quite proud of his job. Said it was the best one he had held. Talked him into taking our picture at the Welcome to Alaska sign. He was very nervous that his boss would see him doing it. We treasure that picture. It headlined the calendar we sent to our jealous relatives. I deeply regret that I did not pay him for taking our picture. Hope I see him in a few years.
