Lots of folks take the "snore" route: I-90 (Mass Pike) to Worcester, I-290 to I-495, then I-93 to Manchester. I've never done this because I enjoy the back roads. Our RT or passenger car are very comfortable with RT 9 and 101, but I'm told the Interstate routing takes the same amount of time.
