Albuquerque to Moab Utah

What might Rt 550, 491 and 191 be like between Albuquerque and on through Moab to I70, driving my rig, with a toad or maybe without?
  • All good roads when we did them last July. 33ft. ClassA w/toad
  • Moab is a great place to spent a few days and take in the National Parks.

Your Route is Fine - BUT - Have you thought about these Possible stops along the Way:)

    When ever we are in this part of the Country we always try to at least drive through a few on these spots;

Window Rock - Capital of the Navajo Nation

Canyon de Chelly - Just Special

Monument Valley to say Hi to all the Movie Cowboys

    Goosenecks - What a Picture

Then when in Moab take RT 128 to I-70

4runnerguys info on Moab - very helpful

Whether you see all or just one Have a Great Trip,
  • Thanks everyone and good to know.
I do want to see a lot of what's there and for stopping along the way.
Thing is, if I'm without the toad this time, how much can I see of the NP's and such.
Now when at Glacier NP and going inside the park at West Glacier, it was no problem at all, between having a bicycle and and with all the buses they had running everywhere, including the road to the sun.
  • 550 is a 4 lane, in NM, with speed traps in San Isidro (24 mi from I-25) and in Cuba (64 mi from I-25). I recommend turning onto BIA 7010 before Bloomfield (watch for sign to "371 NAPI Raytheon 15 miles") and follow it through the irrigation fields over to 371 to get to 64 in Farmington and over to 491 in Shiprock. It avoids the traffic in Farmington and has some good scenery coming off the Mesa into Farmington.

For a more scenic route stay on 550 up to US160 in Durango and take that over to Cortez and US 491.
  • 550 to 191 all good road, I drive it yearly heading to WA.

Your Coach will make it on all the Routes I suggested - at least see what you can - Maybe pull out the Bikes and Ride a Little :)

    Best of Luck,

    Good to hear, thanks!
And yes, the bike does get a lot of use.
