I disagree on the "old folks" thing. I see many "young folks" looking for simple answers on a forum rather than do their own research. I think it's more of a "place in time" problem - meaning that at this place in time, people don't want to spend a lot of time finding their answers, they go for the quickest and easiest route to get their answers.
I also think that in this place in time, people are used to getting their information in quick sound bites and making instant decisions. A 140 character tweet, a post on facebook, a news radio 1 hour show - this is how people get information and make decisions. The age of spending days, let alone weeks, hearing and weighing all the sides, and THEN making a decision, are gone.
I see this with old and young. It's the attitudes that have changed, not the generation.
