- ezgoinExplorerA follow up question or 2......... I know this is a vague almost unanswerable question, but if I make this drive mid-week around 9-10 am what sort of drive time am I looking at between Redlands and the 5? Also is it best to jump up to 210 that far east?
Thanks for all your input! - MarkTwainExplorer

I'll be driving my MH with toad through northern LA on the 210 west bound to the 5 north. Are MH's required to use the Truck Lane for his transition? I would assume so since I'm driving a truck chassis.......
Thanks
Not required to stay in the truck lane but I tend to find a truck going about the speed I normally drive. Because there are so many idiots on So. Calif. freeways, a truck will give me the additional buffer zone for any idiot doing a dumb driving move in front of the truck. The trucks also act as wind buffers if any winds kick up. - Not required but I still use them to go a little slower through the crush on 5N.

- LwiddisExplorer III agree with the bear II. I'm not a truck but I use the truck transition lanes. If you don't use it you'll be making a number of lane changes moving to the left...the 14 Fwy is accessed by the right lanes and I5 to the left. I would do this part of your trip no later than 1 p.m. if on a weekday.
- the_bear_IIExplorerI live in southern California and often travel the highways leading to I-5. I use the truck transition lanes since they tend to be less crowded and fewer idiots cutting in & out of traffic. You are not required to use them in a MH.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIII don't. I'm not a truck.
