Arizona 87 to 260 end of March

I am planning a SW trip. Thinking of the route from Winslow, AZ to Camp Verde which is 87 (which I imagine is no big deal) and 260 which is 37 miles across the mountains at the end of March. Does anyone know how this route is at that time of year?

    Very scenic drive through remote forests. Highway 87 & 260 are mostly 2 lane with passing lanes periodically. All good road. Late March is generally nice sunny weather. Unlikely to snow but it has happened, mostly along 260/87 junction near Clints Well.

    At Camp Verde we usually stay at Distant Drums RV. Very nice park.

    End of March should not be a problem. It's a good road pretty much year round.

    Usually it is perfect weather, but could change. It's a******shoot over the last couple of years.
