260 into Camp Verde - you'll have a long downhill. Shift low before you begin the downhill, not during. It'll be over before you know it! From Payson you would be on 87 to get to 260 to Camp Verde.

If you coming via I-40 get off at Winslow and take 87 to 260.

If you're coming from Show Low to Payson it's an easy drive but crowded on weekends. All of Phoenix travels it to get out of the 120 deg heat!!

If you're coming from Phoenix via 87 to Payson you'll have a long uphill.

The whole area is used by all kinds of RVers. Enjoy!!

Yes you will be fine, large 5th wheels and motorhomes frequently travel 260. Beautiful drive to boot.
