Beware, starting tonight (Saturday, 8/24) there will be huge rains and flash flooding throughout the State. The roads will not handle it, so stay put. Sunday and Monday will be worse.

Please pay heed to the warning. Hubby travels out there frequently for business in both the Phoenix and Tucson areas. He's well aware of the issue but still almost got caught in a wash. They are a force to be reckoned with.

I hope to be out there to witness some of the flash floods, but don't wish them in any populated area.There are some neat videos on youtube. Good video, kohldad. And beware boondockers......do NOT camp in the washes! We saw that happening around Quartzsite a few years ago. We had to pull one guy out.....2 pickups to pull out a small class C. And then the idiot camped there again the next year!!!!!!!!!

Here is the actual forecast from Channel 12, Phoenix, Saturday AM DAILY FORECASTLooks like a very wet weekend is in store for the region as we have monsoonal moisture in place and tropical moisture available. The high temps will be in the low 100 degree range, but that will occur early in the day, before the wet weather later in the day. Sunday will be a widespread rain event off and on most of the day, with localized flooding and thunderstorms possible. The new work week will be wet as well, and dependent upon the track of a tropical disturbance off the west coast of Mexico.

Having lived out that way in days gone by you learn what happens real quick..Doing a work site a few years back south on Maricopa Road south of I10 flooded out. Not a cloud in the sky for days before the flood.. Then we heard the rumbling sounds... The station we was working on got totally surrounded with water with just the building and parking lot dry. I Think the town of Maricopa had about six feet of water. We had to leave our rental cars behind and be rescued by helicopter to get back to the hotel in Scottsdale on that trip.. Roy Ken
