Atlanta route
We're traveling south on I75 from KY going to FL. What is the best route around Atlanta?

Get off I-75 in Calhoun and take Georgia 53 to Rome and get on I-75 South. Stay on I-75 South to LaGrange and get on I-185 South. Go thru Columbus and get on US 280 South. In Richland go straight and get on Georgia 520 South. In Dawson, Georgia 520 will turn into US 82 South to Albany and then to Tifton and I-75 South. It is a great road all the way. Four lane highway and lots of 65mph speed limits, 70 on I-185. You will go thru Carrollton and LaGrange, both are very nice towns with great restored downtowns. West Point Lak,e a Corps of Engineers Lake is in LaGrange. In Columbus there is Fort Benning with the National Infantry Museum and lots of other neat stuff like Army OCS graduations, Army Infantry Recruit Training graduations at the National Infantry Museum. Airborne School jumps and Army Ranger graduation (Rangers in Action) programs, and a great new Exchange and Commissary, if you are retired military. Fort Benning also has a great RV park at Uchee Creek, right next to the Ariborne drop zone. In Albany there is the USMC Logistics Center with an RV park. I would highly recommend this route instead of I-75 thru Atlanta.
