I have yet to see a sign in any Pemex, including near the border, that the stations are carrying UBA Diesel. Many travelers conclude that the red signs with Premium are Diesel. They are for Premium gasoline. Even Magna is not low sulfur. I still think that one of the reasons for no ULSD is that Pemex is afraid of users having problems with older vehicles and the new fuel. The seals in the fuel pumps of a 40 year old Dina would likely leak. The lack of lubricity would also affect the old vehicles. Hard to believe but sometimes Mexico does worry about it's citizens. Mexican fuel has a higher Cetane rating ( like octane for gas) and most diesels will run much better on the old fuel. Here is a link to an article about fuel that does touch a little on the diesel problem. Steve rights very good and usually FACTUAL articles but he did mistakenly refer to a red Premium sign as Diesel. It is for gasoline. The article is about 18 months old.

Until I see a sign on either the pumps or on the station sign I will not believe that they have ULSD. Or if Pemex issues a statement that all stations are now carrying ULSD
