This summer I was driving long haul for an O/O. He also had a shop where he worked on other people's tractors. One day a fellow who worked up north brought his truck in to have the DPF removed. He had been using fuel that was not ULSD for almost 2 years. Probably meant for off road. The mechanic was instructed to disable the electronics for the DPF and remove the DPF to have it cleaned. I could not believe how plugged that thing had become. No machine can clean a DPF when it really is plugged. Very expensive to replace. As for Mexican trucks not allowed NOB with LSD. I do not see how. I buy fuel about 80 KM south of Nogales. I asked the owner and the driver of the tank truck about ULSD. Nope just regular diesel. Hundreds of Mexican trucks that cross @ Nogales fuel up at this spot every month. Their fuel is not ULSD and I doubt anyone ever checks them. But there must be ULSD somewhere in Mexico. Here is a quote from a Time magazine article
"U.S. exports of ULSD to Mexico more than quadrupled, from 25,000 barrels per day in 2009 to 109,000 barrels per day in 2012."
