Oh, also if you need a place to stay for the night. Bakersfield River Run RV Park (across from Costco) is newer and very well taken care of. It's a good place to stay right off 99, and is fully paved.
Off 58, Orange Grove RV Park is also nice, older but well taken care of, too. As the name implies, they are in the middle Orange groves with orange trees on their property you can pick fruit from when in season. The blossom smells are great. It has paved roads, but spaces are gravel, so depending on how much rain we get this winter, this might make it a little messier.
There is also another park on 58, that we haven't stayed at that is supposed to be nice also, A Country RV Park. It's a little closer to Bakersfield, but not much.
