Baltimore to Nashville and back at end October?

Hi All,

We're a family group of 3 adults from Brighton, England coming out for an RV hire trip between 25th Oct and 3rd Nov... and we're looking for suggestions on routes to take, places to see... and good RV hire options not too far from the Airport. We've never been to the South and any must see/hear route suggestions are welcome.. State parks / campgrounds, DC, Richmond, Dollywood, Nashville, Memphis if that isn't too far... and any other ideas. I'm a bit concerned about stuff being closed up at that time of year, so your tips would be very welcome!

Thanks from Nick, Gill and Bridget.

  • I'm guessing you are landing at BWI? Your best bet is cruiseamerica.com. It is located in Towson so you'll have to take a cab to get there.

You'll definitely want to stop in DC though you could spend your entire week there. If you are short on funds, Greenbelt Park is great.

From there, I would take the beltway (495) to Route 66W to head into Virginia and Shenandoah National Park. Big Meadows is still open at that time and you may catch the end of leaf peeping season.

From there, I would head down Route 81 to Tennessee. You can go to Great Smoky Mountains National Park or head toward Nashville.
