Bandon To Roseburg

Well, we were down by the beach here in Bandon yesterday and I see a big school bus with Roseburg on the side and the driver sitting in it.

I was born at night but not last night.

So I go over and ask him. Take the 42S to the 42 he says -- I do it all the time and no issues.

Yes, I took the advice and did tripcheck. Those delays are no big deal; just wondering about the highway. Nothing in Mountain Directory so probably not too bad. We have the time as that is a short day but did not want the extra miles if not needed by going up to the 38.

Try visiting http://tripcheck.org a quick look on that highway shows both delays on Hwy 42 are under 20 minutes, probably not worth routing around it.

What ever you do don't take the route north that Google shows, called Coos Bay Wagon Rd. If you must go up to Hwy 38.

Have driven the 38 many times but will be in Bandon going to Roseburg and just looking for the best way.

If you're heading north on I-5 we like 38 better than 42.
