The road from the border to San Felipe is brand new and smooth, the road from San Felipe south to Gonzaga is sketchy at first but then turns to smooth new highway. From Gonzaga to Cocos Corner is still dirt and then over the hill to North of Rosario is still dirt but we use it all the time on our tours it takes 2 hours to go 30 miles but it is amazing scenery I would not take a rv or trailer over this road but in a toad or a buggy it is awesome and the quickest way to get from the Sea of Cortes to the Pacific ocean. I think that is what you were asking......
