Thanks for the update!
I think it was that hill north of Rosario that we had to be pulled up in the VW. But it was soooo many years ago. In 1975 there were sections of the road that were "disappeared" and unmarked that traversed great slabs of granite rock. It was definitely a challenging 4x4 road then. As I recall one day it took us 12 hours to go about 8 miles. Much of the time we had to walk in front of the VW Bus to find a path and clear boulders.
Sounds like the road has improved. You say you'd drive it in a car? I would like to haul my 30 footer with my 3/4 ton Dodge 4x4 down that road. Do you really think it impossible now? Do you have any photos you can share??
I am hoping enough has changed after 40 years that I can do this....
