Everything depends on the snowpack from winter. Where we camp up near Nakusp we were at 6000ft on June 15th and we couldn't go any farther on our Side x Side because of all the snow that was still on the ground. By the second week of July there was only snow on the North side of a couple of Basins and some higher peaks.
Lower elevations will be fine " most likely" so plan for all kinds of hicking locations and elevations and then do some homework before you leave. Try checking and contacting the towns and villages, chamber of commerce or city / town/ village hall and or BC Parks and they can point you in the right for the info your looking for on hicking trail conditions.
Also sometimes we get rapid thaws ( HOT WEATHER) early in the spring which can also cause floods / mud slides and or avalanches which can close some trails, however they are usually repaired as soon as possible, but worth checking, so you can tweak your plans.
And..... next year is Canada's 150 birthday and all Canadian National Parks will have free entery fees for the parks themselves.
And... we have noticed around here that the Trans Canada Trails have been getting a lot of upgrades and that is also for Canada's 150th Birthday on July 1.
One last thing.
If you are planing on being someplace on the July 1, 2017 which is a Friday this year, I would be making reservations for that entire weekend starting on Thursday night until Monday night. It will be a very busy weekend all over Canada.
