Just for more info, in the past we tooks the Trans Canada highway from Golden through Revelstoke and Kamloops down along the Fraser River. We only had 17 days for that trip and spent most of it in the Banff/Jasper/Kootenay/Yoho parks. With a little more time, we hope to see more of the central part of the province and around Vancouver (city, not island). Every day we like to take a hike or do an easy to moderate mountain bike ride.
I found a couple of posts from the last several years listing the best day hiking in BC and I've plotted some of those locations up. Trying to plan a route that hits some of the more scenic PP's to use as a base for exploring different areas.
