The question of where and how to get cash in Mexico comes up all the time on this forum. We use credit union debit cards to get cash from ATM (cajero automatico) at banks - we prefer machines at banks during business hours in case there is a problem. We have found this is the best way to get the best exchange rate - better even than going into the same bank to get cash from a teller. We rarely use our credit card in Mexico as we get charged an international exchange rate fee or something like that - others say they have cards that do not charge this fee - check with your card issuer to find out. We rarely get charged the fee at the ATM as our card is in some sort of system that has an arrangement with many banks so the fee is waived. There are many options. How you find out the best one I have no clue. We choose credit unions as they usually have the best deal for many banking services.
