I have Waze and Co-pilot (the RV version) running on a tablet all the time while driving. Don't use Waze for directions, however if you put your destination in Waze as well and there is a major traffic jam ahead, it will tell you.

I also downloaded the Morgan Freeman voice for Waze for a laugh.

I use the new ALK Copilot app specifically for RVs. It specifically has RV restricted routing and you can subscribe to the very good Inrix traffic if you have a data connection. If you don't have a data connection you can still use Inrix historical traffic (called ActiveRoutes) in the app. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 to run it on mounted in the RV with a ProClip USA mount. I love the solution.

I have used the CoPilot app on my iPhone for a year. I just upgraded to the RV version and so far I like it better than the other version. You also get traffic reports for the first year included in the price. One thing I like about CoPilot is that is uses GPS in your phone so you don't have to have cell service to use the app. You still have to double check the route however. I noticed that leaving this campground it routed on a narrow 2 lane windy road. A GPS is only as good as the maps which can be wrong or outdated.

We fulltime and I've been using Co-Pilot gps app on my smartphone and tablet as for years, and it hasn't steered us wrong. It has a setting in the app for RV which you can set the height up to 13'. If you need more Co-Pilot also has a RV version you can purchase that lets you set the height, weight, length etc... But it cost more than the premium version, $59.99 for the RV version.

Not familiar with the app the OP mentioned, but there are a lot of features built into my Garmin (and it is a 7+ year old model) that makes it very handy and works well for me. I do a lot of pre-planning on my route rather than just "hit the road" so I know I'm not going to get into any serious binds.

Yeah, it's another device I have to carry around with me, but it also means my phone is free to do other things.

Our is 2 years old and feel the same. As with any GPS confirm your route before hitting the road.

FYI It is illegal to mount your GPS on your windshield in many states and in some it is only legal in certain locations on your windshield. You need to use a dash mount that normally does not come with the unit but you buy as accessory item.

I like my Good Sam GPS 7735 LM powered by Rand McNally because it has RV settings and is advertised to only route you in a truck like route. However, towing a 40' 5th-wheel with a combined length of 57' I never trust a GPS. I also use Mountain Directory West and try to over fly the route with google maps in the satellite view. An example of why...I planed a trip from Hill City ND to Cody WY. The Rand McNally GPS routed me over Hwy 14 Alt with 10% grade over OMG hill. I rerouted the GPS to take me via Hwy 16 and only had 5% to 7% grades.
