Best Road for 38 ft RV & tow to Rt 101 from I-5

We live in Redding and have towed a 31.5' 5th wheel over 299 with no issues. A great deal of the sharper turns have been realigned with construction still going on ( still some delays except on Sundays). But, Weaverville is worth seeing as is old town Eureka and nearby Ferndale. 299 follows the Trinity River for a good distance and is a designated "scenic route." Then, as others have noted, the drive north on 101 from Eureka is really spectacular.
