Best route Blue Ridge GA to Charlotte NC

We are also Floridians and not comfortable with mountain driving. We took the route from Clayton and it was NOT one of our favorite roads. Ivylogs definition of a little "hilly and curvy is not my definition. :) It's very curvy with a lot of up and down on those curves. You have to go very slow and be careful not to overdo your brakes. We have a DP with an exhaust brake, but we didn't like it at all! It's do-able but we avoid it now, but then we're coming from Tampa to Blairsville and found we prefer heavy traffic of Atlanta to that road. Unfortunately, there aren't many flat roads leading in or out of Blue Ridge.

I mapped a route from Blairsville to Concord NC, which I think is close. The only non mountainous road I could find is a long way out of your way.
