Best Route Cape May NJ to CT-(no GW bridge!! please!)

What is the best route home from sea isle/cape may nj to eastern ct? Trying to avoid the GW Bridge and 95 in general. Garden state to??? Wondering about tolls, tunnels, construction etc... Help!

The GSP is a summer shore road that fills with north bound traffic on Sunday during the summer. If you leave on Sunday, I suggest you leave first thing in the morning.

This is the most direct route (GSP to I-287 in NY). Some of the older bridges on the GSP have low clearances on the right lane due to road widening years ago. These are arched bridges, so just avoid the far right lane.
