Best Route Elkmont to Mt. Pisgah

Question

Will be staying a few days at Elkmont in GSMNP then moving to Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Pwky.  I know we probably don't want to tow the TT on the Pkwy for too long and the first miles near Cherokee have very low tunnels.  Should we go the long way on I40 to Asheville, or could we cross GSMNP on 441 and perhaps go through Waynesville.  I'm leaning toward I40 but not sure that will be the quickest or best route.

Well, was hoping someone might have some suggestions.  I guess no-one has done this particular route before.  Do have alternative plans in case things get shut-down.

I would go across to Cherokee and take the Parkway. Just take it slow. Lots of Campers travel those routes. As far as the tunnels go just cheat over towards the middle of the center line.  The tunnels are not very long ones and you get thru them in a flash!
