- w2kimExplorerWe were at Cades Cove Thursday Oct 2 and were planning on Elkmont Friday before returning home. We then decided maybe to cross over the mtn and stay at Smokemont (based on the wx reports). Made a last minute decision to just come home and glad we did as they got an accumulation even in Asheville. We live in the Piedmont of NC. The lightning was spectacular on our way home late Friday evening.
- MoteExplorerWe go to Gatlinburg every fall about this time. Not this year thou. Three years ago I think when we went there was three feet of snow in the mountains but nothing in Gatlinburg itself. The plows got the road thru the park cleared pretty quickly. We drove up the mountain once the roads were cleared and it was amazing. So beautiful.
- tragusa3ExplorerThat was a strange snow...we live an hour from there. About 5 miles north of us had 8" and 4 miles south of us had 3", but we had NOTHING. Very spotty.
- Stars101ExplorerI'll be happy to show everyone at the TN TC Rally how to post pics since I recently found the easy way to do it! Check out Forum Support - there is a link to a drag and paste clicky that is totally idiot proof - as evidenced by the fact that I can use it :) One of the RV.net members made it.
- GoinThisAwayExplorerI'm not surprised to hear of the tree damage as they haven't entirely lost their leaves yet so the snow will load them up. Maybe we'll have a class on how to post photos at the gathering :)
- devildog1971ExplorerI have pictures from Elkmont campground eight inches sounds right and one of the reasons they closed the campground trees were falling on campsites and campers. I have a Mac computer and never posted pictures before guess I will have to get more tech savy

More than a dusting at Gatlinburg. A friend sent pictures.
I sure guess there is confusion.
HLN news is reporting they got 22 inches.
Maybe on top of the mountain versus the valley? - Stars101ExplorerI still haven't found a definitive total b/c one article showed a picture that looked like approx. 4" and in the next sentence said "but downtown Gatlinburg only has wet roads". So I was just curious if there were any real totals.

- Stars101ExplorerDid Gatlinburg get anything? I tried looking online but got confused about locations vs. elevations LOL. I believe Gatlinburg got a dusting of snow?
