You can get snow that time of year on most routes unless you get down to I-20 or farther south which is way out of your way. We hit snow on I-40 in April more than once. I would watch the weather and take I-80 to I-29 down to Rt 36 across Missouri.Then I-72 to I-74 to I-75 to I-40.Make sure you have a snow shovel, chains and Good Sam's or some other type of road service and be prepared to hole up for a day or 2.
