Best route from Niagara falls to NYC (liberty harbor)

I am trying to figure out the best route over to NYC. Google/ bing and mapquest take me 3 different ways. Goodgle takes me I-90 to a short cut (taking rt 20 to rt 41 which leads to I-81) and then lead...

Great, thanks for the info. That is very similar to the map-quest route. Have you ever taken Route 63 to 36 to cut across from Batavia or is that not worth it?
