Best route from Palo Alto to Petaluma
OK road warriors. What is the best route from Palo Alto to Petaluma. I see many options, different bay crossing etc. Would prefer to stay on major roads. Thanks. Traveling in a 40ft motor home.

- Your 40' motorhome is still much smaller than the GGT and Airporter busses.
They go the shortest route. 101N, 380, 280N to 19th. Ave, 101N across the GG Bridge to Petaluma. I've done it many times with various RV's.
The GG Bridge is free northbound, but over $20 southbound if your toad is attached. $6 for a separate 2 axle vehicle. - I assume you don't want to go thru SF? then 280S to 680N to 780 to 37W to lakeview road to petaluma. If you don't mind SF traffic (do it mid day) then 280N to 1N to golden gate bridge (101) to Petaluma. If you are going the weekend of June 21-23 then stay away from 37 as it is a race weekend.
