Best route suggestion NE of Phoenix

Many RV'ers do use 60 without issue. Not my favorite though. Much of it is 2 lane with some rather steep curvy sections especially thru the Salt River Canyon. Never liked that route but again, it is well traveled and doable.
Another route would be to take Ellsworth rd north which becomes Usery Pass rd to Bush Highway, past Saguaro lake and onto 87.
