Best route to Crescent city, Ca from Greeley,Co

Hi all: We want to see the redwood trees in Northern CA. We live in Greeley,co. (about 50 miles north of Denver,co). What is the best route for us from Greeley to Crescent City? Just pick this city because it looks a good base camp. Some travelers have used the the Good Sams travel planner. Where is the web site? Thanks. Jim2007

"Best" is always subjective, depending on your objective. If you want to get there in the least amount of time and spend more time enjoying the trees, go from Greeley up to Fort Collins, take US 287 up to Laramie WY and then take I-80 all the way across to Sacramento, and I-5 north. There's a variety of different routes you could take from I-5, or you could meander over to 101 and use towns along that route as your base.
