Best/safest route from Phoenix to South Lake Tahoe Dec 1 ?

We are pulling a 22' travel trailer from Peoria, AZ, (NW of Phoenix) to South Lake Tahoe. Camping in Tahoe for the ski season. Any suggestions on a safe, no chains route would be appreciated. Arnie

You have to check weather but that is early. It's possible but not probable that you will need chains. Hope the slopes are open. Skied Tahoe two winters ago at New Years and it was man made snow and rocks. Are you just going early to be ready? supposed to be a good year, fingers crossed.
