Honestly, for a first time winter traveler in the area, why not start in Los Mochis, and toodle along, checking things out along the way, with no schedule? I remember back in 1992, getting stalled in Lo de Marcos, en route to Puerto Vallarta, when there was only one place to stay. Stayed 2 months. Didn't mean to, we had "plans." Kind of the same thing for us and Zihuatanejo-stopped in, stayed at El Manglar, stayed a long time, found a semi-permanent place there, and will eventually buy a house! There is SO much to see and do, think of your country. In that respect, think of ours. We live on a perfect Southern California beach. We go south for the winter for warm water. In the middle, we visit other beaches in Southern California, and there are too many to mention, and all lovely, all have different things to offer.
