Birmingham to savannah - best route around Atlanta
Will be going to Savannah 10/5 and looking for way to avoid central Atlanta. Was thinking 285 to 407 to 75. Any suggestions?

Getting off on Camp Creek Parkway is shorter and less traffic. Here is another idea for you, one that I have recently found and tried. Get off at the Ga. Hwy 5 exit in Douglasville and go south to Ga. 166. Go all the way around the roundabout and get on Ga. 166 East. Go about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Caps Ferry Road. This is a very good road, very little traffic. After Caps Ferry crosses the Chattahoochie it turns into South Fulton Parkway. Very little traffic, it turns into a 4 lane 65 mph hwy., and then turns into a restricted access (IE interstate). It then hits I-285 at exactly where I-85 hits I-285. Then take I-285 over to I-75 S.
