Birmingham to savannah - best route around Atlanta
Will be going to Savannah 10/5 and looking for way to avoid central Atlanta. Was thinking 285 to 407 to 75. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry, but I go from Birmingham to south of Atlanta a lot (today, in fact) at about 4:00 PM and I always go I-20W to I-75S to I-16E and it ain't never a problem unless someone has a bad wreck and that can happen anywhere. All the other suggestions work, they just ain't needed. Atlanta traffic ain't that bad unless you are a "hurry hurry person that's gotta change lanes every 1/2 mile".
