Usually it is three months before your reservation, and reservations for “most” campgrounds don’t open until the 3rd weekend in May. So reservations “usually” opened in mid March.
However:
With COVID everything changed in 2020.
First all the campgrounds and parks were closed. Then they opened parts of some parks and then some campgrounds slowly in June.
Reservations were only available for BC residents the entire 2020 season, if I recall it went to a 2 month rolling reservation date. Also you were only permitted to spend 1 week per campground through the reservation system for the 2020 season. First come first serve sites were available to non residents, and they were full all summer.
Last summer was the busiest camping season I have ever seen in my 50+ years of camping.
So..
With the ongoing COVID numbers everywhere in the world, travel restrictions looking like they will be in place until well into 2021, who knows when the reservations system will open and if the restrictions will change in 2021.
Best is to call the 1-800 number and ask the BC Parks people.
